Freedom of the Knees
I wonder if there’s a chance in hell I could get away with wearing my kilt to work next Spring.
Don’t know why I’m thinking about that now – it was 55 degrees Fahrenheit and foggy this morning. Of course, that’s good bracing Highland weather, so maybe was the cause.
I like my kilt. It’s comfortable. I don’t think I’d go Regimental at my workplace, despite jameshroberts‘ insistence at yubbie and colleenk‘s wedding that “If you wear underwear with it, it’s a skirt;” to which my retort was, “well, I have a little experience in those matters too” (cf. the Technicon 2007 Dance for example).
I probably just haven’t awakened yet. Ah, well. Back to work.
“If you wear underwear with it, it’s a skirt;”
Pshaw. I’m a highland dancer and if you DON’T wear kick pants with your kilt, you will be disqualified, big time.
When I got married I had a medieval wedding… two weeks later friends of ours got married Scottish style. The men looked ever so handsome in their kilts and I am a huge fan of men in kilts; and, well, men in skirts for that matter! LOL
I say wear it and tell them it’s in solidarity for your Scottish brotherhood or… for an easier time you could always just say you lost a bet. *shrug*
It’s the kind of thing I would say, but I don’t think I’m the source of the quoted passage. If I am, then it wasn’t at and ‘s wedding, for I was not there.
Hm, I can clearly picture you saying it. Which means nothing, of course. Sorry if I put words in your mouth 🙂
Not at all. Like I said it’s the kind of thing I would say. In fact, I’ve said it. I may even have said it to you. Just not on that occasion. And I can’t claim credit for it; I heard it elsewhere before.
