Maybe it’s just hibernation…

I haven’t really slept well the last couple of nights. For the last week, Starr’s been constantly lightheaded and exhausted, napping through large chunks of the day. Sunday, she was running a pulse of 130. (What am I doing taking a pulse? I’m a Mac geek, not a doctor!)

She’s been to the doctor; nobody’s yet figured out what the problem is. It doesn’t seem to be immediately life-threatening, but at the same time, it’s really curtailing her activities. I believe she’d like her life back. Me, I’m just worried that we’ll find the problem and it will turn out to be life-threatening.

So, yeah. Not sleeping so well.

Did they check her for Lyme Disease?

Is she under stress lately? I had that problem back when I was about her age (i.e., long before you and I met) and it turned out to be anxiety-induced. I was on Buspar a couple of months until things in life stabilized, and suffered no long-term effects.

On the other hand, on the first day of Buspar and a muscle relaxant, I felt like Troy Tempest with his strings cut.

Well, she works 12-hour shifts in a cancer ward, her Mom’s been unwell lately, and she lives with me. Stress? What stress?

Seriously, she’s regained some color and appetite. They still want to check her heart because of the severe dehydration she’s had for the last week, but the word is that it was almost certainly a nasty nasty stomach bug and that she’s out of the worst of it. So now my stress has lowered a bit.

She’s not sure, but wil be asking on Monday. However, she’s doing much better, and the thinking is currently “nasty stomach bug”. So she and I are both a bit more relaxed.
