  • 20:00 I’m really missing Junkyard Wars. I want to watch one of those without having to download it. Preferably with Cathy Rogers hosting. #

Rock Rockin’ Tha Spot

More WoW.

Mirandala just dinged 65, which means she can cast the Shattrath Portal spell as soon as I find the trainer. 5 levels to go before I hit the current cap; the last 5 levels took me… hmmm… 11 months.

Boy, I’m addicted, aren’t I?

(Okay, I did level Circy from around 5 to 55 in that period, and messed with a couple other alts. Still, that’s not setting any records.)

Interesting WoW rock video to the tune “Rock Rockin’ Tha Spot“. Despite the quality of the work, I feel I must warn potential viewers about the swear words and the Blood Elf nudity.

I Can’t Drive 155

There’s a video on the Internet of some guy taking his new Lamborghini up to two-hundred-and-some MPH on Arizona public roads. The driver insists it’s cool because his car is made for those speeds, Arizona roads are straight and well-maintained, and it’s night, so there’s no other traffic. (Except for the other traffic he had to slow down for in the video.)

I found the video at a car enthusiast website, so of course there are plenty of comments cheering and backslapping and complimenting the guy on the size of his reproductive organ his vehicle and driving ability. After the irritation faded, I decided that my hope was none of these fools ever discover, in person, exactly why encouraging someone to drive >200 on a public road is a bad idea.

Never deal with a Dreadlord

Just watched Unlimited Escapism, Vol. 0, by “Baron Soosdon”. 14 minutes of wild visuals and trance music… nicely soothing on a Woden’s Day evening.

This image of Petite Nikita, however, made me want to run a Shadowrun (2nd ed.) game set in a highly-technological future of Azeroth…

Gnomish Assault Vehicle

I doubt that anyone would be thrilled to find that their back-alley street doc was an undead Forsaken 🙂

Set to “liquefy”

Me being “funny” at Technicon 24’s “Whose Con Is It Anyway”, courtesy of nius.

Improv really is harder than it looks. Also, I really really really need to start getting some exercise 🙁

Wanna go “up”, and wanna go “fast”

I had occasion last night to reflect on how incredible my friends are.

It’s been one crisis after another for the last four months, and at every turn, someone’s stepped up and had my back. I don’t think there can be many people out there as lucky as me.

Once again, furniture had to be moved, this time with about 45 minutes notice. To my great surprise, ptownhiker, fixitup, and Dwight all showed up and were rewarded with booze, food, and Radar Men From the Moon.

You guys are all wonderful. Not just the three who were here last night, but all of you.

Yes, I’m mushy tonight.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot: Badger Trance

Getting It Started

Question: Are you, the reader, familiar with both the recording artists a) Shirley Bassey and b) “Pink”?

If you are a member of that exclusive club, you would only be punishing yourself by not clicking “play” on the associated video.

Otherwise, you may still enjoy it, but you will sadly be unable to perceive the true levels of awesome presented here.

Morning television

Two bits of video that have made me happy this week:

Go Go Gadget Beatbox!

Fold-up technology

New phone now. At first, the RAZR wasn’t performing any of the tricks I wanted it to, but I fiddled with it a bit, and now GMail works, and I’ve figured out a way to get my own ringtones onto it without buying ones from Sprint or purchasing a Bluetooth dongle for the Mac. (I might try to get the dongle anyway, since I can then do calendar synchronizing.)

I also found “One More Time“, the first cut off Daft Punk’s “Interstella 5555 (The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem)” on YouTube. I’m still deciding whether I like the music (think it’s a yes), but the video was throwing me some serious late 80’s flashback with its Leiji Matsumoto-y goodness. Gonna have to try to see the whole thing, now.

Speaking of anime, rattrap gave a good review to Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, which I had just recently heard about on the RDF Underground podcast. The podcasters agree with him that the character designs for the ladies are a bit mammary-focused, but I guess they were shooting for what they felt was an authentic modern anime look. Still, it’s supposed to hold up well, and I’ll be adding it to my collection when I can swing the cash, even if (like The Sentinels) it uses Alphas instead of Valkyries.

“This could mean the end of the world! … of Warcraft.”

A couple weeks ago, South Park did an episode about “World of Warcraft”. I don’t keep up with South Park, myself – in fact, this was the first episode I ever watched – but I’ll admit there was some funny stuff in it. They got the game references almost completely right. (If you’d like to see it, and haven’t, it’s all over the web, with the apparent approval of the show’s creators. There is one rather unnecessary scatological joke, unfortunately.)

Machinima.com has an article about the episode, where the show creators discuss working wth Blizzard. Among other trivia, the episode was apparently filmed in the Burning Crusade alpha-test server.

Edit: And since I’m discussing the intersection of South Park and geekdom, here’s a parody snippet that we children of the 80’s will find familiar…
